The whole point of the German rig is that it's stiff all the way through, which is the opposite of what you want for a solid bag.

Neither for bag fishing. Simple ,supple knotless rig with a bottom bait on is the way to go

Like mentioned below I would use either
No rights or wrongs in Carp fishing. Take on board what everyone else thinks and do you own thing.

Had a few german friends, was not that easy to slip them some D, interesting is they all wanted it in bag on the end.

you need colored white hair or beard for gamma otherwise it doesnt work.
