Amnesia is the obvious one, tons of choice breaking strain and stiffness and reasonably priced.

I also use the cheap Korda Carp Line in 20lb is good, as is Maxima Chameleon

the best are Thinking Anglers Think Link, and Gardners Trick Link, Amnesia is ok and not so knot dependant.

Funny you should choose those two.

Think Link £6 for 20m, Amnesia £6 100m and very similar products.

Trick Link £5 for 50m, Maxima Chameleon £5 100m and a very similar product.

Beware of the carp tax and fancy little spools when it comes to mono.

What is it you require, stiff to supple?

Personally I used Gold Label Pro Gold green years ago or Berkley Trilene XL, these days If using mono I just either snip some off my mainline or peel some off the bulk mainline spool if I have it.

Do you just use a knotless knot and a mono hair.
Or a d rig.
Or something else.

Why is it funny?

Think Link and Amnesia are absolute worlds apart .

Can't say there is anything remotely similar between Trick link and Amnesia either? Maxima Chameleon is red for a start.

The think link has much better abrasion resistance than amnesia, and is much stronger for its diameter ( TA rate knot strength ).

Please stop singling out my posts, it's getting old.

Has Think Link changed since release then? As when it came out the joke was that it was just Amnesia wound on to TA spools at twice the price as they were so similar.

Compare the useful properties of Chameleon and Trick Link side by side, the colour of a mono is a minor detail once in the water

I'm a big fan of mono hook links, I've tested a lot of them, my point was there is no need to spend double the money on carp stuff.

I'm not going to be drawn into a squabble about who is allowed to post after you have, just trying to be helpful to the OP and save him a few quid.

If was your first sentence, it just seemed to target what I said.

I've sea fished all my life using amnesia for the majority of my snoods unless bass fishing with live baits, or lure fishing. Think link is very different. And if you've handled it you know it. In terms of what it's used for it sits alongside amnesia as in both can be applied to the same situation but they do have different characteristics?

If you compare the useful properties of all monos, you will see much of a muchness. I feel the two I recommended have FAR better abrasion resistance to anything else non fluoro out there. Just my opinion.

I've no problem with you posting in threads at all mate just try to refrain from speaking to me, you tend to pick me out more than any other and in all honestly I'm bored of it now. Just trying to be helpful on a forum.

For mono hooklinks I nearly always resort to Amnesia in 15 or 20lb clear.

I do check knots and hooklink regularly as it can suddenly 'give' after a bit of pressure, usually at the knot.

I know its not a mono.....but a flourocarbon....but have a look at sakuma flourocarbon when your next in a tackle shop (in the sea fishing section). Perfect hooklink material without the carp tax

I use Nash bullet in 10 and 20lb, 12lb technium, 15lb gr60, maxima in 8lb, ancient spool of adrenaline in 10lb, 30lb big game, 15lb gr60.. that's just mono, not fluoro and stiff materials.
All depends on what I need it to do but most of the time I'll try using a lighter mono element in the hooklink than the mainline. Like a running lead on .35 mainline with a .28 boom to a stiff hinge. Otherwise I'll use a heli on a heavy leader and move the weak point above the lead if I need the abrasion resistance of a coated braid or .30+ nylon

When I was using Pro Gold & Trilene XL in the 8 - 12lb then I was just knotless knot and mono hair.

Anything stiffer then it would either be d-rig or hook swivel & bead.
