Just wondering what everybody's views are on the Korda coloured hook kickers? Seems like all the Korda guys are using them. Having fished for 25 years I've always tried to hide the hook yet this seems to go against that. Anyone found them to be really effective? Cheers.

To be honest I don't think you'll ever no if it's effective or not. If using with a hi-viz bait then it may add to the visual aspect. Or a red may blend in with maggots and so on. But I just think it's just another selling point they can make a few £ on.

I bought 1m metre of red electrical shrink tube for £1.50 on ebay.
I use it with red mags, it looks decent in clear water.
Do i think it matters. Probably not.
Does it do any harm. No.

Don't worry about.
Carp might be able to see it in gin clear water, FROM AFAR, but once they are grubbing around with their mouths they cannot see what they are picking up, eyes on top/side of head. but act on Chemoreception and feel.
In murky waters, or at night, Coloured kickers or shrink tube, etc, it makes no difference IMHO.
But if you would feel more confident to use it, then use it.

What's the difference between hiding and changing appearance?
I used the red ones for maggots but use electrical shrink tube in red currently, however I'm getting the thinking anglers zig kicker things in red, gonna modify em, because I like it and why not lol

Haven't used them but I do think colour makes a difference at times, the only way to find out is try them.

What's a hook kicker?
I do know, but never used one.
I'm old skool and still use black or clear shrink tubing which works out far cheaper. I can get the angle or curve I want without paying carp tax.

The pre-formed kickers do the same thing as shrink tube but are reusable.
Very handy for any rig that you can easily change a blunted hook on.

Change a blunt hook?
If the hook gets blunt I bin the rig.
If I use a Multi rig, I don't use tubing or kickers.

Some of my pre formed kickers have lasted a year or more. Ideal on Ronnie rigs as you can re-use everything bar the hook. same with a slip-d rig you can use the rig over and over and just change the hook ( but I do use shrink for this )

You just said you avoid carp tax then said you bin the rig ? I hope you salvage components such as swivels, hook rings etc, and then you can add the kicker to that list ( if it suits your fishing).
I was using the noodle rig and thought the TA noodle kickers would be pants but they're an absolute gem, and I have used the red korda kickers when using maggots.
The limitation for me is that they give a set form, which might not be optimum for what you want to use it for, bloody handy when the stars align and it is though

Yes I do reuse swivels and rig rings, even silicone tubing if they are still good. Blunt hooks go in a can that is crushed and bent into recycling.
The braid often gets saved to be used for tying hookbaits on, pop-ups or the hair.
Squeak when I walk
I like my own angle on line aligners or kickers, so as you point out the 'set form' does not work for me.
