Does anybody use this method, if you do, do you use a small loop before the bigger knot to ease the separation?

I just cut the old one off and re-tie the new bag on, for how long it takes. Don't like the look of loops.

I do and it's much easier than cutting and re tying, just tie a loop and once you push your line through it will come off easier so you don't need a small loop, I've only used this method for a few years now I don't bother any other way when I'm using pva bags, it's a very good way and I've had zero issues at all with it it saves so much time

Yes just tie another small loop knot on the end of the big loop, job done.

Yes. No problems at all. Use the extra small loop if you wish, I don't. One or two fig 8s, fused loops or splices and it works with everything, mono, fluoro, braid, as I say, no problems at all.
Are you sure?
