Afternoon Guys, I am new here so please be gentle.

I'm wondering what people use for there chod sections, I'm not a fan of the ESP bristle filament as I find it to wiry. And been using Korda mouth trap in 20lb but find it doesn't hold its curve very well.

Has anyone used anything else that that would recommend as I see a lot of smaller companies do there version now just wondered if anyone has any recommendations.

Bristle filament is wiry, it's meant to be that way

I just find it old and out dated now tbh, it's far more wiry than the newer ones on the market.
Bristle was a revelation when people used to use Silkworm

As has been said, it's meant to be wiry, it needs to be to keep the curve. As you are finding out the alternatives aren't as good as the original esp one.

I wouldn't worry its caught 1000s of carp and will continue to do so.

Old and outdated? Not sure how up to date and revolutionary bristle filament can be?

I've used both in the past and they will do the job fine. Go up to 25lb mouth trap and steam the curve into place on big chucks and it will retain its shape. Or pva the curve to the swivel that should solve your problems 👍🏼

I used the ESP bristle stuff when it was more or less the only option. It was/is probably just a heavy mono that drennan found and had it wound into smaller spools, but it did the job.

In my opinion stiff materials have moved on and the 25lb mouth trap is my preference for stiff sections now. Just seems to be nicer to work with.

I still use silkworm and merlin 😂, had to draw the line and stop using drennan starpoints though.
