Tied up a few slip d rigs the other day to try while using wafters in a solid bag, and also a bottom bait topped with a small pop up snowman style. Both times when I reeled my rig in the slip d part of the rig was all twisted around the shank. Is this a common problem or is there something I'm doing wrong when tying this rig?

Slip D is unnecessary in a solid bag, just a knotless knot will do you with a wide gape or curve shank hook.

I don't use a slip D but have tied them up, if I did I'd use a piece of foam pinched around the back of the hook over the point to stop this, it could also mean you've been done over by a fish I'd guess

Agreed, a big wide gape hook and a small hookbait on a simple knotless knot is all I use. My thinking is that it likely all gets sucked up on one go and the pellets etc hide the large hook lying flat under a small wafter.

Size 6 wide gape, hair trapped with a bit of hook silicone, ESP brown anchor braid and a small 8-10mm match wafter/ single grain of corn etc

Nice one thanks for the adivse guys, was just playing about with my rigs in my solid bags see what worked. I'll go back to the simple hair rigs I reckon from what everyone is saying.
