Remember reading an article on here a while back where a few of you reccomended using a Drennen Subfloat to create an adjustable zig set up.
The branded Zig float kits have a swivel fitted into the top to connect the hooklength too as you will all know.
From what I can see the Subfloats and Pike floats just have a tube running through the centre of the float.
To connect your hooklength to the top of the float do you just use a shock bead and pull a quick change swivel into it or is there a better way?

I use a couple of float stops at the bottom of the float, that way everything is trapped but you can still adjust

the sub floats are good for zigs , but anything over 18 ft down and the floats can split which ive had when pike fishing ,but for zigs not to much of a problem.

I've had this with sub floats too, had them split on a 40ft railway pit but that is probably very extreme circumstances
