As per title really, looking at trying one of these and wondered if anyone has any preferences to either? Thanks

Get to a tackle shop if you can and take a look, have a feel is the best way.

I have been using the Ultra Skin soft for about 3 years now and only have one fault with it and had good success with it and probably best coated braid that I have ever used. But what I do find is the Brown is the best, the silt and green seem to have stiffer waxed braided cores when you strip the outer especially the silt. Most of my fish come on the brown, but that may be because I use it more and also it is a clay pit that I fish with a brownish yellow bottom when you can find the "hard bits"
The only fault I find is that the hooklength can go "Curly" quiet easy for some reason. But, a rig lasts a long time before it does. It appears the outer braid seems to stretch or get distorted etc and it does not go back into shape. Sometimes I cast out a perfectly good rig, and when I wind in, it is curly. Sometimes, I suspect maybe what is in the stick mix has affected the outer braid or maybe it gets distorted somehow when you cast with a stickmix and the outer braid gets stretched as the stickmix maybe slips down the hooklength a bit. Sometimes it happens when playing a fish, perhaps if the fish goes into weed or catches a few reeds it distorts the outer, but, once again, it could have been distorted before the fish picked up the bait But, as I say, it takes a rig a long while for it to happen so it does not bother me.
The stiff version, I have not had much luck with, but, I only fish small 4" hooklengths, maybe if I fished longer ones with the stiff, it may work better.
I did try using ESP loaded to compare it and found that the Ultra skin is far heavier and sinks better and lays flatter. And a measured length of both on a jewellers scale, reveals the Ultra skin is heavier, but, it is also thicker which accounts for it. Drop two identical lengths of both into water, and the ultra skin, is on the bottom whilst the ESP is still sinking.
