Intend of fishing zigs alongside a Reed bed. Usually use 10lb double strength for zigs, sure there's better lines out there as that's what I've been using since I started using them.

So the water I'm fishing the average fish is 25-35 a few 40's and some upper 40's and a 50. If I hook into them anywhere near to the reeds I wanna be confident I can steer them away and if they do manage to get in there the line ain't gonna give up straight away

Obviously want to get away with as light line as possible. Was thinking 15lb but it's quite a thick like for zigs so will that be too much, will I get away with 12lb?

Opinions and advice on what would be ideal.
