Hi,
I am a bit of a newbie and my local lake does not allow braided or coated hook links so I am trying to make my own. I have the D Rig sussed but most use coated hook links I am using chodlink bristle filament and it looks pretty heavy do you think that I am better off just using normal line not the stiff line?
I just need a hook link that is not braided etc it all has to be mono
Any advice appreciated.

Chod link is a little too stiff to be honest. You can use mono straight off your reel, or if you did want something a little stiffer, a fluoro hooklink like ESP Ghost in 12 or 15lb is ideal.
To be honest if braid hooklinks were banned I would be happy using mono straight off the reel.

I've used bristle filament on d rigs to great success so I wouldn't worry personally as long as you're fishing over hard stuff.

Id like to also recommend amnesia, I've used it for a couple of sessions, great hooklink. Nice and stiff enough to kick away from the lead but soft enough to rest on any small bits of debris on the bottom
