Has anyone used these for Ronnie rigs? Going to be fishing a water riddled with crayfish so I want a very stiff boom. I have the Korda Boom and crimps but always worry about them slipping. The Gemini books look pretty tidy

I'd stick to the boom , I doubt you will ever apply enough pressure to make them slip
A lot of money for a hook link in my opinion

You rate the boom? The Gemini booms are only £3.75 for 3, I thought that was a bargain to be fair

My mate had a 140lb+ sturgeon and over 20 carp upto 55lb in France on a water with loads of sharp rocks using the same set of gemini tidy booms all week, and they were still fine to use at the end, so Id have no concerns of strength and quality, not used the boom so can't comment apart from only seeing good things about it on here.

I pretty much only use the tidy booms in my fishing now. Both the Ronnie and Turbo German ones for either pop ups or balanced baits. Been on them for a couple years now and I've only ever had one go on me. Also use their leaders which are very good

Hi mate on the Turbo German Tidy booms do you put putty or a split shot an inch from the eye of the hook? Also do you use them on a lead clip set up and what size do you use most 7 inch or 5.5 inch? Thanks.

Because you can use it any length, although I've tried it and it catches fish
I lost two on the bounce , maybe just unlucky
I'm not sold on such stiff hook links for most of my fishing though

Not a ronnie user. . .can / will crays still mess with Ronnie Rigs and pick at / eat the silicone hook sleeve?

For cray rigs read Kens T's guide and keep it simple - either one piece stiff hair & hooklink or stiff D rig. . with bullet proof baits
Are you sure?
