I'm thinking of going back to using braided hooklinks having just bought the avid pin down, watching the Korda masterclass on rigs has just confirmed this could be a good idea as the masses will be using boom sections. Anyone else gone back to using braid?

I have at various times, last time was 3 or 4 seasons ago, very short over particles and it worked a treat.
Moved over to a stiffer coated hook link when I changed waters and found the Roach & small Bream were moving it all over the place which lead to the hook picking up debris, blunting & not sitting right.

I never stopped using braid. 😉
One rod usually was plain braid with either coated or a combi link on the other.
Also plain braid sits better on some lakebeds than any stiffer hooklink boom.

If I'm ever fishing single hookbaits with tiny oily sticks then soft Uncoated braid all the way. Always like the Korda supernatural. Very under used and underrated. Would always recommend a small pva bag, stick or solid back with use of soft braids mind, just helps keep it tangle free and kick the hookbait away from the lead on the drop.

Korda Dark Matter in 20lb is very good, especially when coupled with a large hookbait or a small mesh bag of pellet/ crumb slid down the hooklength

Thanks for the responses on types of hookilink material, bought some camo sink link to have a try.

Kryston Merlin.
I bought as much as I could when Dave Chilton sold Kryston in case it became hard to get hold of or changed
