One with wrapped bait and not a lot of bells and whistles.
You're rig should be fishing all time even when they play with your rig.

If you use uncoated braid, the little blighters have a tendency to pick and twist it.
Stick to coated braid, nylon, Amnesia or fluorocarbon all the way through.

They will walk down pop-up rigs to grab and eat the pop-up, and they can cut your hair if you use mono, so I prefer 15 or 25lb braided hairs.

Mesh your baits, or use wooden balls.

Keep things as simple as you can, although a sliding ring on the hookshank fished like the Ronnie rig is handy.

I've had a lot of experience with Ronnie & Reggie, the little sods. They will eat anything, they love plastic and boilies.

My advice as follows.

Use hard hookbaits, check them regularly. If they're nibbling these away, get some tights and cover the hookbaits with these. And if they're getting through this, then use a hard hookbait, with Fox Armamesh and tights!! Plastic baits are OK, but the can nibble these away also. Zigs are good.

Rigs, just use coated braid for resetting purposes. They love rig tubing, if you can, use a leader instead. I've had tungsten rig tubing come back chewed to hell!!

Use spodded particles and boilie crumb, this way you will have some bait around your hookbait. If you feed whole boilies as freebies, the crays will have em.

Good luck.

Ronnie Rig on a semi-stop coated braid, floss the baits on to the ring swivel. If you use a hair they will snip the hair or pull out the hook bait stop. Hardened hook bait, wooden balls soaked in flavour etc etc.

Something else, use the V shaped boilie stops that you pull into the bait. Again, they can still remove them but they're more tricky to remove than normal stops that sit on top of the bait.
