Hi all,

Planning to get down to farlows soon and they have a leader ban.

Never fished any “naked” set ups before so looking for some inspiration.

Would you use tubing at all or keep the line naked and just have some small blobs of putty on the line?

Thanks

Just use a nice heavy tubing, keep it simple. I use the Nash tubing which sinks well and is easy to thread.

. . .I'm fishing a syndy with a leader ban - so have had to ditch the flurocarbon leaders for tubing which I generally hate. However, have been using the Rigmarole Freefall Micro braided tubing and find it fine . . .supple, heavy and similar in appearance to ESP leadcore (in the brown/black variant) . . .most importantly its a doddle to thread = minimal stress.
Expensive at £12 for 3x but well worth it IMHO . . .

Ended up using tubing and was okay.

A blank on first session back but still good fun.

Tapered mainline. 45lb to 15lb. Heli safe with the beads mounted on the line. It's easy to get round leader bans these days without having to use tubing.
