Anybody had any experience of these hooks and care to offer up an opinion.

I use the Pallatrax hooks on barbless waters. Find them very sharp out of the packet. Regarding the design, personally I'm not sure if it makes any significant difference, I don't tend to loose fish with normal barbless so can't really say my take to landing percentage has gone up or down. But as a hook, sharp and strong.

Thanks for the reply Dave. Not really a fan of barbless hooks lost to many fish on them. But as many waters insist these days I have no choice. Apparently crushing a barb is not good enough.
Just wanted to no if the ridges on the point put the odds in your favour or just a bit of a gimmick.

I use them for barbel fishing they are pin sharp and quite small for their relative size.
They are also quite a thin gauge wire not sure if I'd trust them for big fish in sizes 8 and 10. Not sure if the bigger sizes are a different gauge wire
Never had a problem with them popping out saying that never really had problems with any barbless hooks falling out
