I've just got a few of these with the intention of using them dropped from a bait boat.
I was just wondering also if another possible use might be in a pva bag, might have a slight edge over the traditional inline.
Looks like it could work.
Anyone tried this?

Why would it be an edge over an inline in a bag buddy?

Thinking about it now logically, there's probably only a small benefit if the fish moves it's head up after taking in the baited hook and will then quickly feel the full weight of the lead.
But if the fish were to pick up the hook and move to the side the lead will then move along the lake bed and would likely offer no extra benefit over an inline.

Years ago we had a similar thought, was using inline leads [ before korda ] and squashing them in a vice because of fishing on a slope, wrapping an elastic band round the thickest part of lead and trapping the hook link under it.

It worked but no better than normal and was prone to the odd tangle and feeling that if the lead landed awkward the whole set-up might be rendered useless.

Fast forwards 30 years and I'm still using inline leads normal and very effective they are to.

Yeah thanks for your comment.
I can see what you mean about the possibility of tangles.
To be honest i've only bought a few of the COG's on a whim, but im not heavily invested in them so not a big deal if i don't use them.
Im sort of resigning myself to carrying on using inline leads instead, as i can still use them semi fixed or even drop off if really needed (which is very rare anyway).
Are you sure?
