Hi folks
As per the title, does anyone still use inline leads with soft hooklinks for their general fishing? I know they're generally favoured for the edge and solids these days, but all this lockdown time reminded me of my fishing in the 90s - estate lake rules meant you could only use a max of 1.5oz and inlines were very popular then, and the combination of the two turned out to be really effective.
Back then I used it with 25lb Merlin and a bottom bait on a b175 it caught well everywhere, with hook pulls being extremely rare.
I know there are more effective anti tangle and re-setting rigs, but it does make me think as it seems to be little used these days...

Pretty much my go to, still use merlin and a 2oz in-line when fishing the method.

Still use them regularly. They are my default choice as the most efficient hooking rig when conditions are right. Used to use Merlin but have moved to Supernatural and occasionally Dark Matter. In weed less than 2/3 ft thick fish a pop up straight off the lead, you may be pleasantly surprised.
Must admit I use heavier leads around the 3oz mark.

Inline leads for me nice and simple

I use them for most of my fishing, a nice simple set up and never had any problems with tangles on cast. A 2oz to 3oz lead with a straightforward hooklink, try not to over complicate things.

I use inline leads wherever possible and have done for many years.
I get less tangles with inline leads, especially when using soft hooklinks, a small PVA mesh bag on the hook means 99.9% tangle free.

still on that setup, I've changed out the merlin for esp sinklink but apart from that, 2oz lead and a b175 is still my goto
