Currently a user of technium black line which i cant fault other than last weekend the water i will be fishing quite often this year, my line stood out like a sore thumb, my mate next to me was using gt hd and his line literally disappeared in the water, so i love the colour, however, he was experiencing a lot of twist and constantly had a spin doctor on it, not sure how old and abused his line was as i forgot to ask, does anyone else have problems with twist in the gt hd tia

Not sure about it disappearing. I thought it showed up as sunlight reflected off it and it really glistened.
It did twist easily.
If would frizz up one it had been dragged through weed etc. I found cutting it back to un frizzed line became a regular thing.
It did NOT like any form of clinch knot. Whether the stuff I had (15lb) was dodgy or not but it failed me twice in the same day once. Be very careful with your know. I suggest a very wet Palomar.
Line lay was pretty good.
Casting wasn't bad at all but I did not trust it one little bit after the knot failures.
Many people like and trust it so please bear in mind this is my personal findings.

Thanks for that mate, couldnt get any more honest so its definitely appreciated, i meant on my particular lake with it being a clay pit it blended in with the almost greyish water which i liked, pleased you have confirmed my thoughts on the line twist, as said my mate was always trying to untwist it and as you say cut bits off, wonder why it does this, i know all mono has some degree of twist but it did seem quite excessive

A friend uses it in 12lb straight through and swears by it. I have it on a couple of reels in 10lb breaking strain and its bloody brilliant to be fair. No twist at all.
I am under the impression all line twist is imparted either when loaded, with the rigs used or using a baitrunner.

Yeah fair point mate can definitely understand that, total fishing tackle have sold out of the tech black so looking at alternatives

I've used the 12lb for a couple of years. I've not had any issues of twist or frizzing. I think someone mentioned on here though in a previous thread that the 15lb didn't behave as well as the 12lb.
Currently using 15lb, l really like it, as others have mentioned casts well, sinks ok, I've found it very strong but has twisted a bit too as mentioned?

I thought it was pretty good at first, then I had all the issues mentioned.
Switched to Ultima F1 and have no complaints at all.

i had the same with the 15lb - unruly mess on many occasions - so much so that i didnt spool up the other two reels with it - tried it on 1 to begin with as a test.
I like the fox exocet - been lovely and very easy to use in comparison the the hd, genuninely wish i hadnt bought it which doesnt happen with many things for me

been using the GT HD in 18lbs for a couple of years now and found line lay to be ok and visibility in the water again ok but there is no real way of knowing what it looks like to a carp so never paid to much attention to that anyway.
Casts well but I get line twist quite alot, was not sure if this is because I pull the line out of the reel through the clutch alot or was the line, it does seem worse with the GT HD than I have experienced in the past though.

got spooled up on three rod as was told it was really good, got all the problems mentioned below, replaced it thinking it was a bad batch, it wasn't.
Will be changing as soon as the shops open again

I had the same twisting, knot failures and line breaks. To be honest, despite the hype back then it was one of the worst lines I have ever used, and I've used quite a few. I ripped it off after one month and never looked back.
As regards you pro of it "disappearing": what good is an invisible line if it curls and stands up when fishing slack lines? Might as well quit using tungsten and leadcore then.

A fishing buddy used to use gt hd and had the same problems. He switched to esp synchro xt and Daiwa sensor on his spare and has never had any of those issues. I use sensor aswell and have always rated it.
