I tried tying up a couple of rigs yesterday at the lake using Korda Hybrid Stiff Coated Braid in 20lb.
But when I tightened up the knots using pulla tools both times the braid broke around 2"-3" from the hook?!
I bought the braid only probably a couple of months ago and it's sat in my tackle bag since then.
I can't use the stuff now as I have no confidence in it's strength.
Has anyone else had a problem with it?

Had the same problem (when playing fish) and left the stuff for good. Now I use Tungskin from TA or Fox Edges Coretex Tungsten and never looked back.

Sounds very strange. Send Korda an e-mail or give them a call and they will ask you to post it to them and replace it. I have contacted them a couple of times and hey have always been very good.

It's my favourite hooklength. I've used it for years and had fish into the 30's with it. Sounds like you've had a bad batch. Send it back to Korda.

Same happened to me and Korda came up with all sorts of excuses. Cost me a couple of fish when I tested two spools both broke down from the knot not at it. Never used it since.

Broke on me recently too - emailed korda and they said that it can only be crimped, even though it states guaranteed knot strength on the packaging!

I've used it before.. crimped and knotted and its very weak IMO

If there is a bad batch just how many hundreds of spools must be out
there in shops and tackle boxes? One bad spool at the manufacturing stage probably amounts to thousands of metres?

This 'bad batch' saying makes me chuckle. The manufacturer (i.e. the factory in China or wherever it is) AND the tackle firm (Korda in this case) should have the necessary checks in place to determine if a batch of product is no good. It's not hard.
If I get a "bad batch" of anything tackle related i'll never buy that product again. It juts hows that the manufacturer and tackle firm haven't got the controls in place to guarantee their product.

Knots need to be steamed down with this hooklink or crimped for best results

I use crimps all the time with boom and its NEVER broken, I crimped the hybrid stiff and it didn't take much to break. maybe it wouldn't break on a fish but its definitely weaker than the boom material when crimped.

The hybrid stiff is far stronger crimped than knotted i have tested it crimped breaking over 20lb , where knots were snapping very easily
I recently got some of the new esp tungsten loaded x stiff steams straight like the korda hybrid but knotted far better for me a fig of 8 loop knot snapped well over 20lb,

I use the gardner ultra skin stiff and that is really good. I use it with multi rigs and combi rigs. the loop knots are really strong and dont need steaming down just plenty of spit and pulla tools

I have the two hook lengths the same as you I find the loaded thinner than the hybrid but not as stiff and the loaded is a pain to pit putty on just keeps slipping.
Prefer the hybrid
