Hi all, what hooklink material would you recommend for the KD rig?
Cheers

Don't think you need anything too specific , I would use any coated braid, or plain braid in a PVA bag. Wouldn't be confident with a stiff hook link all the way through, but a combi would be fine .

Any coated braid will work, stripped back 5 or 6 inches.

I only use a KD rig on commercial fisheries with a method feeder, so use an uncoated braid. Works well for me in those instances but wouldn't have confidence to use in other scenarios

I'm not a fan of KD rigs but if I did use one it would be Dark Matter uncoated braid all day long

Iv caught loads of big fish on the kd rig in france and uk. Id use a size 6/4 curve hook and a soft coated braid or semi stiff coated braid with about and inch of unstripped braid behind the eye. Nails them! Make sure you either tie the hair with pva tape or put a small stick on to stop hair tangling on the cast. Needs a wafter or snowman to be effective.
