Look beyond your toes, you might enlighten yourself. They are monopolising everything to the point that they will control most things. As a British citizen who is also looking at the future for my kids that seriously concerns me, how about you?
They bought out a company I used to work for, they used to invest 15billion into cutting edge chemistry, they did not buy it for the business they bought if for the chemistry and R&D which eventually end up in... China
Another business I worked for lost out major due to the labour costs, couldn't compete in this product market so let it go, to the Chinks

Are you an importer by any chance?
OK so we've worked out that if we make our own stuff some part of the chain may come from China but if individuals want to boycott Chinese made stuff as much as possible then surely it's their choice, whether it'll hurt China is another thing but at least they have the satisfaction.

I fully intend to do exactly what you describe mate.
A poor example coming up... Yesterday was looking for a bushcraft,micro inflatable pillow,for my old one was leaking,and Chinese made...
Found a few I liked, but made in China,did,about five mins worth of research,bought what I wanted,made in Sweden.., and only three pounds more expensive..
Similarly, the above outlook is going to be taken on board by many,I bet...not just me....
Every time I look at that Aqua Heritage armo I own,it looks good,but look again....its so poorly made,rubbish compared to my original which I had for a long time...
I would pay good money for a decent made British bivvy,or shelter....

Nope just don't live a blinkered life. Not telling people not to boycott just asking questions about what they aim to achieve and why. Is that not allowed? Like I said in an earlier post for me, a majority of the people I've seen have no real reasons and are the same people that before Christmas were screaming “brexit, get the foreigners out” but now need something to shout about as those foreigners are propping up the NHS, shops, public transport, etc.

Sometimes it takes something major to happen to stir people into action. China has been chipping away at global domination for years but as it's been a steady thing and people are busy with their own lives so we let it ride.
This has focused the mind for sure.

Not trying to influence anybody or stop them doing what they want to do, sorry you feel that way about a few valid points about the whole thing. valid points that would Make people that are potentially jumping on the bandwagon actually think About it rather than be sheep should not be ignored? Has this not led to more than ‘a virus started there' as the sole reason for a boycott, anyone with no clue that reads this thread will have a comprehensive understanding of the situation and be able to make an informed decision if they are so inclined.
It's sad that you feel that points that show the whole picture are an attack on your belief. If you feel that way then it is you that is attacking your own beliefs based on points someone else has raised in conversation. Ive not once said China hasn't been doing anything that anyone has bought up, merely pointed out it is one of a long line of countries that have tried global domination in one way or another. Like you said instead of using violence like the rest of the world tried, they have used money and it has been very successful for them. Again just for your benefit, that statement is NOT saying well done to them, it's just saying it how it is. Whilst the rest of the world has focussed on bombings and war the Chinese have taken a business opportunity and made a shed load of cash and bought up whatever they wanted in every country and made the world almost dependent on them. It's Much more clever than turning up with guns and bombs and slaughtering everyone.
