Don't tell, but I used to put multi-coloured beads on a hair.
They are perfect for moulding paste around...

Way back in the early College days we used to put "luminous" beads ahead of the lead. Whether they were in fact luminescent at 10 feet is open to doubt, but we had loads of carp while using them

I have also tried "Glow in the dark" artificial corn, but never had a take on it.

What was the benefit of using coloured beads covered by paste?

The beads hold the paste on the hair.

I asked why you chose coloured beads.

Folk do it a lot in sea fishing to give their bait more attraction - popular approach when fishing for flounder and other flatfish.

I guess the same theory with carp which folk have put into practice and had success 😃

They were handy. Also more visible than black or green if the paste came off

I have used all 3 of those hooks, in fact this year I had a 55lb cat pick up a boilie fished on a carp"R"us nailer and it headed straight for the biggest snag in the lake, I turned it successfully and when netted the hook was embedded just past the barb in the center of the bottom pad, if you know cats, you'll know that's a hard spot, that cat fought like a demon[don't they all] and that hook held its shape perfectly.
Ray called me later that week about another matter and I told him about the landed cat, he has great faith in his hooks, and so do I.

I think all hooks have the potential to open out, all depends on so many variables, but it's a piece of thin metal at the end of the day, none are indestructible in the wrong circumstances.

Confidence in that pattern afterwards is a personal thing obviously. But it could just have been bad luck rather than a poor product

Ray Dale-Smith founder and owner of Carp-R-Us.

Nice guy, met him a few times when he was doing the tackle shop rounds promoting his gear.
