ESP needle and make sure you push the material right up to the needle handle where it is wider and rotate the needle, this opens the hole making it easier to pull the tag end back through, pulling tool from both ends to tighten it all up.

Remove the leadcore you need.
I use a large sewing needle or similar for this.
Try teasing and separating the end of the leadcore weave for a couple of inches, so that it isn't in the shape of a round weave, just straight individual fibres leading up to the round weave. I hope that makes sense!
Put into splicing needle, and bunch up the leadcore as you pass over the separate straight individual fibres, you should find that it is less bulky, and more willing to tease/roll the splice to fully go up to where you what it to end up, before tightening it down.

Yep - makes perfect sense - thx! Have got hold of 2 Fox Easy Splice needles & I agree, the diamond design instead of the ‘latch' is easier / faster. Shame JAG don't do a ‘bomb proof' stainless steel set of needles, the Fox needle is still pretty flimsy, understandable for the price tho.

If I can manage with my sausage fingers and blind eyes (hello ladies) anyone can, practice makes and all that + splicing means you have good old fashioned physics on your side
