Not sure i avoided that at all, surely that comes under, the “knobheads using it” reference i made earlier. We were just discussing the mechanics of a rig that came up in the discussion
And the clip facing into the gape of the hook is no issue, if it is covered correctly, so not sure your and/or is necessarily needed, maybe just the or. I would suggest the low grade shrink tube used in the angling industry is more a factor than the clip facing the wrong way.
As ive already alluded to, its generally user error. But rather than deal with the idiots, blanket bans are put in place. Wont be long till pencils are banned cause a few morons have shoved them up their arses

Agree with that, I have always used it from the start with the clips opening pointing to the back of the hook, obvious nipping point
based on another post below. I will let the cat out of the bag so to speak and let's hope no stupid **** try's it, I learned by error. When I first started playing about with it, it was about having no need for putty to balance baits, change the hooks quickly and extra weight near the hook, It was without any shrink tubing, just a TINY ring of silicone to stop the hook coming off. The naked swivel was to enable as much hook movement as possible so the hook had LOADS of movement on the swivel which enables the hook to float all over. The hooking capability was incredible but the damage is not acceptable as I sad earlier
Tie one and play with in your hand and you will see, also has the potential to lock the hook up to, reeled in a couple of times with it like this, another reason why I ended up adding the shrink tube
It's a rig that must be made up correctly or it has potential to cause a lot of damage, not that desperate people will care

Did nash not release a hook and swivel combo like that? Im sure ive seen one out the packet, with a closed swivel in the hook eye? Havent seen it for a while though so maybe it got removed from the market.

So long as the opening of the crook is pointing away from the hook gape and adequate coverage of the swivel with either shrink tube or a kicker, I don't see how the spinner rig can cause mouth damage. Personally I haven't witnessed this damage on any of my hookholds with it, all bottom of the lip central upto 10/15mm either side.
I think its advisable to weight the pop-up with additional putty at the end of the boom to encourage the rig to drop and turn in the mouth.
Number one cause of mouth damage in this day and age is floater fishing, size 8 and small hooks that on the strike rip through a carps mouth.

I believe so, I also used size 8 swivels, no messing about with those poxy size 10s, which I rarely use anyway.

Nash did have a hook called Gyro with a ring swivel already attached and way before that Gold Label sold hooks mounted on a swivel.

Gold Label sold hooks mounted on a swivel.
Remember those. Think Nash re-realised them too
