Second this - haven't used the TA or Gardner patterbs mentioned but have no issues with the Grippers and prefer them to the Widegapes mentioned and Fox widegape patterns.

I think the newest range of esp hooks is quite poor Tbh, I he old range was certainly far far better.

What issues have you had with the cryogens out of interest?

I used the trig hammers and kept losing fish on them. Literally every one. as for the rest I just don't like the look of them they just dont seem as strong as the older range they did. Don't get why they ditched the whole range as they were all really good hooks

The points on the trighammers are far too fragile, they turn over if they come into contact with any debris.I also don't rate the new ESP cryogen range,Atomic Tackle are very sharp and really strong hooks

I really did rate the trighammers but I now am starting to agree with this, I'm finding myself having to sharpen them and re doing the point after every time I cast out, even after not having any fish.
Question for everyone then I really like the pattern of hook on the trighammer so what hook do people recommend instead? I no they will be different but want as close as I can get

The Cryogen range were touted as being as strong as the previous range but of thinner gauge wire which made them sharper size for size. Maybe it's the thinner gauge wire that's making them turn over so easily.

I wanted to try the trighammers a while back but I couldn't get past the fact that they look like they will open out so easily.
Whether they do or not I don't know but just stuck with the smaller beaked points and curve patterns I've always used instead.

Have no experience with the trighammers - I have been using the cryogen grippers and curves (although predominantly the grippers).
Having tested a few to destruction they were far stronger than the Korda widegapes abd have found they hold their points well.

I had a 60 and 2x50's on the size 4 trig hammers. Yes the points went over but they kept their shape fine
2 of the fish were double hooked though so i didnt use them again

I use the size 4 Trig hammers also, I've had several carp over 50 on them with no problems at all, Even had a 67lb cat which took over an hour to land
