One LAST thing lads I promise and then I'll stop being a noddy!
Do you all ‘feel for the drop?' I get it is important to know what you are fishing over and generally I know my club waters pretty well. Am I at any advantage, trying to feel the bag down to the lake bed?
Merry Christmas to All and a Carpy New Year

I always try to feel for a drop with a bag this can be hard sometimes I find if you pierce the bag just a couple times it takes most the air out of the bag and you get a much better drop.
You don't always need to worry tho because unless it's over very thick high weed most of the time you will be fine and presented anyway

I still try to feel for a drop and find a well packed tight bag will greatly help you in doing that!

Depends what I'm fishing over.
Solid bags will work fine on silt or low silkweed, but you won't get a drop.
So having leaded around with a bare lead and can't find a hard spot, don't pierce the bag, let it sink slowly
then it will rest on top of the silt or silkweed.
