My iq2 is 6-7 years old, I wouldn't worry. I've had plenty of fish on mine just only use it for a couple of rigs.
I'd still think you may be tying it wrong, might want to try the d rig kickers or see if someone can show you the knot in the flesh.

You could always do away with the knot on the shank and use a piece of silicone in its place... does the same job whilst being a lot easier to tie.

As others have said mines probably just as old, i dont think its that, If its coming loose perhaps just watch the vid again and it might be really simple that you have brought a tag through the wrong way or something, i also struggle with the 2 finger twisty knot unless i do it a few times then i remember, so i just do it the other way. Some instructional vids can also make things look simple and dont give emphasis on points that are very important, try looking at a few different ones to see if they show you a bit more . Good luck sounds like you are on top of the problem. One thing i found really helped me was sticking the tag end in the eye of the hook until i had finished whipping the tag end round.

Hi i checked last night, im using 20lb and 25 lb. i tied one in each last night as per the vid linked earlier and i had no problems , Its important to make the wraps around as close to each other as possible and as tight as possible obviously youve done this but maybe just practise it a bit and look at your results. My knot was sound and tight but i could still move it along the shank with my thumb nails and it didnt suffer from it. thats pretty much how i like mine to be, although with the twisty whipping knot i think the flourocarbon comes out of the knot better personally , parrellel to the shank , with the simpler knot it tends to come of alongside the shank or a tiny bit ofset.

I use 15lb or 20lb Rigmarole camH20 for this rig and find the ability to pull down on the knot with a bit of memory helps . . also good for pulling the whole rig taught when its finished . . .camh20 is really easy to work with IMHO compared to other fluro hooklink materials . . .had some IQ and found it brittle in comparison.
When you've sussed the whipping knot end ensure the tag exits on the inside of the shank and blob it with a lighter - this stops it moving and also keeps the loop / rig ring swivel clear from obstruction on the D side.
Great rig when used with a wafter and on relatively clean bottoms / snag free swims . . .recently had my UK PB on this rig with a size 4 mugga and no swivel / movement at the lead clip end . . .once you've tied a few they are easy, simple and have minimal 'components' so you can tie them quick . . .
