The world is clearly interlinked so nobody is suggesting we don't get anything made in China at all as it's clearly impossible. But to try and avoid where we can
Perhaps we should all just accept it, provide counter arguments and just carry on but that's up to the individuals

You know those takeaways don't actually come from China
Problem is it's the people in charge calling the shots, if the world boycotts Chinese product the suffering of the unemployed workers will be horrific because there's f-all prospects for them outside of factory work.
The regime needs punishing, not the people.

Funny thing is I was trying to tell people on here a long time ago that we should stop buying from the likes of aqua, trakker or any other UK based company that had built its reputation here and moved production to China putting their UK workforce out of work but people were saying they will buy from whoever gives the best price. Its in our nature to buy the cheaper option and in many cases people can't afford the UK made alternative although now there often isn't one. Anyway the venture capitalists that own many big companies will go to the cheapest place of manufacture, making China the richest most powerful nation on earth.

Where does your history start? 2nd largest car manufacturing country in the world up til the mid 50's. Motorcycles right up their. Locomotives, jet engines, ships etc. We've always been a quality manufacturing country of all things. Takes a long term investment approach, which is the real problem in this country-get rich quick.

Until the car became affordable globally, same with motorcycles then the Japanese wiped the floor with us in a very short space of time. The likes of Norton, triumph, bsa etc never manufactured on the scale of the likes of Honda.
As said previously, we are/were innovative high end niche market world leaders, rolls Royce Inc jet engines, Bentley, Aston Martin ect UK owned?

cant really bring the Chinese into the car manufacturing side of it all..they are **** at that.all they do is knock out snide looking things..

They were bigger than the Jap manufacturing companies. Like I said, lack of investment in new designs, technologies and manufacturing equipment did for them as the Japanese were prepared to invest in their manufacturing.
Pity the COVID-19 cure can't be made in 18mm with krill in it. We seem to be able to manufacture that high end niche product successfully

I say we shoot 10,000 a day. That's about the equivalent of about 10 in this country 
I certainly hope they go “pop” soon. They have devastated manufacturing in this country and most the world I guess. I've witnessed this in Automotive and chemical industries so far first hand and that's by paying the people peanuts and undercutting everybody else to the point unless you are making something they currently are not it is extremely difficult for a business to compete. Let's not forget shipping it half way round the world too, carbon footprint etc...
The next people you need to stop are the UK Companies Suppliers or middle men shall we call them because they are manufacturing **** all, because all they are doing is buying this mass produced cheap ****, sticking a fancy label on it and selling it onto anglers for a serious and extortionate premium
And Ocelot, I tend to disagree with that, leading the way in technology, they just get hold of it, rapid prototype it and make it, they even make Range Rover and BMW copies and they can't touch them, not to mention one of Lockheads latest fighter planes, where do they get that from then..!

I know they do they're built on counterfeiting goods. Stealing design's and having stringent investment rules loaded in their favour. I'm no fan of Trump but he's taking them on and rightly so. Not sure where you've seen me post otherwise about the Chinese mate.
