Take your point about trade. But they have done an awful ot of killing, invading and torturing in the 80 years or so they have existed in their communist form. There used to be a peaceful Buddhist country called Tibet, led by the Dalai Lhama. China invaded in the late 50,s. Their human rights record there is appalling, genocide is not too strong a word. Lots of educational, technical and military support given to the loonies in North Korea. Religious, political and social repression by violent means is the norm. This is a totalitarian communist dictatorship where freedom is denied to most people. Western governments and businesses have been prostituting themselves for the enormous profits to be made since tricky Dicky Nixon went over in the sixties. You know, the one who was impeached. Careful with China.

And on another thread you say about the price with carp tax etc and silly money yet two posts later you have them. Is your German boat made from parts sourced from German manufacturers, highly unlikely I would think.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for buying UK made but remember the criticism I got a few years ago for supporting uk company's over cheap imports.

The last one I had the delivery driver as soon as I'd opened the door was shouting ‘isolate, isolate'. Told him not to be so hard on himself as I'd only ordered half an hour ago.

Quite right carp tax exists for sure.....
I'm still supporting GB though So practising what I preach. However the GB companies can't be lazy if we are to support them!!!!

It would be nice if we could all buy 'Made in Britain', and even the materials were made in Britain, not sourced elsewhere.

China is embargoed from some technologies and materials, including some carbons. As a result some goods are not as high a standard as they could be.
China as a country is a human rights and environmental nightmare. How many people were 'relocated' when the valley was damned to provide hydroelectric power?
Carbon emissions from coal fired power stations, you could go on.
China has been supporting various regimes in the Middle East and worldwide to provide influence, and the same with various economies in goodness knows how many countries.

Yeah agree but GB still need to compete a bit. There are some people that can't afford £75 for a handle but might stretch to £15 cheapo.....
