hi i want to use rigmarole tubing (leader banned on this lake) with the Korda helisafe tubing kit and tie the whole thing up before i leave the house x3 so that i can just loop them on when i get to the lake ... which 'leader' would you use in this situation - regular mono/fluorocarbon? guess it doesnt really matter too much does it

wouldn't you just use your mainline through the tubing?

If they're on a leader you can take them off/put them on easily. The tubing heli components are very fiddly

If leaders are banned then surely you can't do this without breaking the rules?

My thoughts exactly, a leader inside tubing is still a leader

If you value you ticket, I wouldn't cast that out. You say that leaders are banned on this lake.
as per posts 4 & 5.
IMHO Any loop or knot connection BEFORE the hooklink swivel would be classed as a leader.

It has to be mainline straight through only.

loop knot above the tubing would also mean that the tubing cannot pass the knot if the mainline parted, negating the safety aspect of tubing over something like leadcore

thanks for the replies - you're right in what you say - i thought the knot would easily pass through the rigmarole tubing but let me check that

You certainly won't get a knot to pass through rigmarole braided tubing,

Any reason why you can't leave the rig morale tubing and heli kit on your rods once set up.

Your question was about using a helicopter set up so does the hook section swivel pass over the knot ?

Personally though with tubing I wouldn't bother setting it up with knots.

yeah good point so technically its not really a leader then ... just an extension of the mainline, the knot is never going need to go through the tubing if it snaps off.. safe as houses

As a definition it is classed as a leader as you are joining a line to the mainline

I think you are over complicating it by knot to knot anyway
Be interesting to see if match anglers are loop to loop method feeders 😉
If there are any on the water...
