trying to find a good rig for solid bags pop up or wafter
I use 4in of braid, size 5 wide gap and a Northern Special Mini. The bait balances the hook perfectly.
Caught loads of fish, big and small, on it.
Harry Charrington from fox did some good Youtube videos on it.

Overcomplicating a simple rig really. Slip D is unnecessary in my opinion, a simple knotless knot with a small wafter will do the trick.

I use a slip D simply because I prefer using a bait screw for mounting the wafter. Still a simple rig and works well.

For me 4 to 6 inches uncoated braid, size 6, 8or 10 wide gape to balance the wafter hook bait, usually a small dumbell. Tie the hook on with enough turns so the hair exits the knot level with the point. I don't go more than 5mm separation between the bait and curve of the hook. 9 times out of ten I use a size 8 hook. Really simple, really effective and problem free.

Size 4 wide gape simple knot less knot rig 4/5 inches long with supernatural braid, with a small northern special wafter does me proud a lot of the time

I have always used a simple 3-4 inch braided hooklength. I never use popups and if I did it would be with shot rather than putty as you cannot guarantee it doesn't get squashed or stuck to other things in the bag. Did really well last year on wafters in the bag and I think that is because they suck up the whole bag offerings and the hookbait is lighter and goes in better.

Braided hooklink with a line aligned knotless knot for a bog standard hair rig, around 6inches long.

Joe Morgan's rig on carp angle looks superb . He uses a lead clip system in his bag as well so he can drop the lead . Have a look out for it .. I'll be trying it very soon myself .
I have had a couple of successful seasons using a four inch multi rig with a size four wide gape, 12mm barrel wafter and fox inline drop off (weedy water).

For simplicity, I find the Korda PVA Bag Rigs are quick and easy. Saves on overcomplicating things.

Supple braid, multi rig style but with a wafter. That way you can quickly change the hook when needed and saves having to tie a new rig. 👍
