They'll probably get tighter. Though bear in mind, in cold water it'll take much longer to melt if there's oil present in the bait inside the bag, especially so for stuff done in advance.

Buoyancy of hookbait will be affected if you plan on using a balanced/pop up bait. Some use plastics, depends on your rules / ethics

I make 60-80 bags before a 4/5 day session and regularly re-use the same bags several months later. everything is vacuum packed and if you use shelf life, happy days.

£60 to £80 on leads isn't a bad investment in the grand scheme of things, fair play if you can put the time in to be that prepared.

You could....sounds like we're getting into mega faff territory - though I suppose it is carp fishing, after all!

Fair play to you making all that effort at home
Why not just make them as you go, they take 20 seconds at most when you get the hang of it?

99% of my fishing is in bags. Personally I'd rather use the time to watch the water than faff about making these there. Anything I can do at home like this saves time once I'm there. I also take a few variations along some made for cats and others for carp including a tigernut and tangerine wafter attached to a pva nugget giving me a spot on presentation.
Personally I wouldn't fish any other way as the approach certainly works for me 👍
I also find that these work fantastically well in weed and on one water in particular which is full of Canadian it's the only method that has worked for me.
