Rig Tubing Recommendation (22 posts / 3,297 views)

A while ago I used to use ESP Anchor Rig Tubing. I then switched to Nash Diffusion Tubing because I liked it's camo properties on the lake bed although I had to add a couple of blobs of putty to make sure it was pinned down. It's been discontinued. I then switched to Rigmarole Free Fall and that's now been banned on two waters I fish.

Can anybody recommend what I try next please? I could go back to ESP of course but it's not very supple.

I've just had the same thing happen. I've gone for korda dark matter it's good but not cheap. I've heard banktackle is good too. I'm going to get some from banktackle and mosquito and do a comparison test for weight and suppleness.

Used to use korda tubing until I discovered Mosquito Angling tubing. Very heavy and very supple. Will not use anything else. 👌

Take a look the ESP stuff, it's called Tungsten Loaded Tubing now and it's a lot more supple. Much more supple than the Dark Matter tubing.

I use the hls products stuff off ebay. It was £14.60 for 2m x 5 when I bought some a couple of weeks ago, but I noticed it has gone up now to £16. Still cheap though, and very supple and very heavy. I need cheap tubing because my eldest lad likes casting it up trees, along with leads, rigs and hookbaits. But it also happens to be very good tubing.

Have also used the Mosquito stuff like Stokebloke, that's good as well but a bit more expensive @ £4.19 for 2m. You also have to pay postage.

There was a recent thread about tubing a couple of months ago, have a look at that, there was quite a few recommendations on it.

Bank tackle stuff is spot on, personally don't use anything else.

Second the bank tackle. Their tungsten tubing is superb, easy to thread and very heavy. Great quality

Always used Korda stuff and found it to be very good. Did try bank tackle but found it rubbish. Became brittle very quickly and kept braking

Exactly the same experience here. Although i guess they all get more brittle with use/age.

I've never had issues with it, however I'm really bad for throwing things away at end of session so may just be that they just haven't lasted long enough!

Apparently on safety grounds risk of fish becoming tethered after break offs / crack offs.
