Hi All

After some thoughts/recommendations on what products you use on your skin to stop insect bites? and also do you put anything on your clothes/Bivvy?

Any help recommendations appreciated

Avon so soft oil spray very good on your skin. Deet spray on clothes and hat.

I suffer really badly with bites. My dad is even worse, his often get infected.

I tried the Avon years ago and for me personally it made absolutely no difference.
I then used Jungle Formula for a few years and whilst good, I did still get bites.
I then discovered Incognito, for me it gives pretty much a 100% success rate if I apply it properly. The downside is it's double the price of a lot of other stuff.

I bought a two pack of it and gave the second bottle to my dad and since then if he applies it properly he's noticed dramatically less bites.

So I guess if you don't suffer badly then it's probably not worth the extra, but if you do suffer then for me it's worth the extra.

Pretty much my own experience, Avon didn't stop bites at all but incognito is almost 100% effective, just remember to reapply regularly.

Hi,
Incognito Insect Repellent is the best ive ever used and if i do get bitted i use after bite which is the best thing ive ever used to stop the itching.

I have fished in Thailand and couple of months in the Philippines Morocco and in fact fished most of Europe I have been on holidays in USA Everglades Greece islands Fished the Ebro in Spain etc etc

not boasting just trying to get over I know all about biting insects I have tried probably every repellent going from the horrific Deet that melted a watch strap

the very BEST spray on I have ever used is the very safe Award Winning incognito mozzie repellent only thing is you have to reapply it after 5 hours!!
but its so incredibly effective you can spray it on your clothes I have used it in most of the countries listed above its so safe you can spray it on babies !! cheapest place to buy

apart from the Geranium oil based ones mainly sold in France

I live in one of the worst midge regions in scotland and avon skin so soft does work for me also smidge , however where mozzies are concerned incignito is the best , what works for one wont necessarily work for everyone.

For many years Avon skin so soft worked for me but not sure if they changed anything ? but it lost its effectiveness on mozzies for me at least

BUT for midges STILL there is nothing better and that why they all use it in that Scottish training base well hard bstds !

I have a friend who is a mozzy magnet....he invested in a £9.99 anti mosquito watch from Amazon and problem solved for him, not a single bite since he's been wearing it. Might be a good alternative solution.
