Anybody use a multi with a curve shank hook ? How does you find it performs compared to a chod style hook ?

Cant say - but I've just tied a whole batch of them with curved shanks to use over the next few months - they look good.

All I ever use for pop ups is curve multi and had great success on weedy waters. I'm considering trying to use the new Trig hammer hooks from ESP and see how they do.

What hooks you currently using mate ? I've tied a couple up with esp tungsten loaded and carp spirit size 6 curves and they look really good with a 12mm pop up, I normally use it with chod hooks and 15mm pop ups but this setup looks a lot more balanced for the smaller pop ups I'm going to be using.

JP curves, size 4 or 5s with proper job pop ups, 5s mainly for smaller pop ups and 4s for bigger baits. But if weedy I always use a 4.

I used Nash Fang X's on the multi when I ran out of Twisters, hook holds just the same and I now use both patterns with no preference.

If you want a cheaper option I use bank tackle curve shank hooks and I always get a good hook hold in the bottom lip and touch wood up to now no hook pulls. 🙂👍

Used this rig for the last ten years with more or less every pattern of hook available and always gone back to the old stiff rigger style pattern. Did do very well on the north met using a curved pattern on a multi rig, but a run of hook pulls later in the year lead me back to my old faithful size 5 stiff riggers.

Im just trying the multi rig, ive used in the past with chod type hooks but i do like a curve, with the multi the hook sits funny because of the angle the braid exits the eye.

This ok? Id like to use a curve but just looks off to me

I'd be able to offer some advice on the trighammer on a multi, if only I'd stop blanking
They do look very good on a multi and I'm sure they will work well. I have had one hook pull but I was fishing in some fairly heavy weed and lost it after a few minutes of trying to coax it out. Not blaming hook pattern for the loss.

I've dropped three of my last 8 runs on barbless trig hammer multi rigs, fished heli style. I had no problems with barbed ones over the last year. I've changed to a different pattern for barbless waters now.

I've been playing with the gardner cvr riggas on a multi but haven't had the confidence to actually use it yet, just looks totally wrong but seems to work well in tests
