Marty's right, think the going rate is about 15.80 either way (for a car), 25 if you're in a van.. That's euros obviously!
The supermarket's are both an easy drive from the complex. The Carrefour (aka Le shopi) is about 3 minutes drive away in the local village of Verberie, a bigger (and slightly cheaper) one is available at Lacroix st Ouen, which is about 5-10 minutes up the D200, which runs past the lakes to the nearest town called Compiegne.. The supermarket at LSO is called the Auchan and should come up on your sat nav?!
Regards Heron.. The pellet approach I suggested for Fox lake will definitely work on Heron, one of the agents for Abbey fished for 10 days last june and had a massive 87 fish haul, inc. the 'big3' of Shoulders, Bruno and White tips (in 24 hours!!!!) using the same method, during his 10 days I think I'm right in saying he only used 10+ kg of boilie but went through the thick end of 175kg of pellet!!
Having said that, Heron is the most 'English' lake on the complex and I'd have no hesitation in whacking out the marker rod, finding a few spots and then maybe spodding a bed of particle out and 'sticking some boilies over the top, just as you would back home! At that time of year I'd have a good look around the shallower end of the lake, from Peg 9 up to 14 before setting up anywhere, if 14 is free it'd be worth standing on the concrete overflow pipe in the corner of the swim and just watching the area along that short, no fishing bank for an hour or so, if the fish are in there, you could have a field day?! If you don't see anything, then it's probably a fair bet that they're not going to be in there at any point either!! My first choice then would probably be between 9-11, 19 (which doesn't actually cover much water but does act like a highway for fish heading from one end to the other) or the unfancied 23 (just to contradict myself lol) which is at the clubhouse end and has great access to a resident weedbed to the left, a few lovely gravel patches and a hump in mid water from 45-60 yards and if the far bank is empty (and you possess a decent bait boat) access to fish another weedbed that springs up between Pegs 1 and 2 opposite!

we are off to abbey lakes in october to do the (carp classic), no bait boats are allowed so i am told,all your good advice would be the same ,apart from the boat advice.

Since when are bait boats not allowed think you got that wrong,hope so cause mine is going on tour round the lake in 12 hours time.

Just a quick reminder, Rowing boats are currently ONLY allowed on Kingfisher.
IF the weed gets really bad and fish are being regularly weeded up, then we will announce on the web site that rowing boats are allowed for the freeing of weeded fish.

If everybody stopped fishing the Kontour way and used tight lines as it is after all one of the weediest venues around in high summer then perhaps you wouldn't need a boat
I managed to bank nearly 400 fish last season and had to resort to using a boat on less than 5 occasions! Tighten your lines up ever so slowly until they're like bowstrings and then just peel 5-10ft back off the reel, this amount in conjunction with the natural stretch in the mono is ample and will still give excellent bite indication.... Fishing slack lines cos it's fashionable is daft and on a weedy water containing 250 fish over 40lbs, unacceptable! It shouldn't be the fishery's duty to provide boats so people can go and wrestle fish out of weedbeds, quite often damaging them as a result just because Mr X said if they didn't fish everything on the deck, they wouldn't be cool enough to use his bobbins!!!!

Just by dumping the lead and learning where the weed beds are should avoid the need for a boat, however in extreme cases hand lining the fish directly above them in a boat is the safest and less likely to damage the fish........just make sure you wear a life jacket

I reckon she'll be out again soon........massive fish like Shoulders, GM, etc......all need to binge at this time of year thus unless you lose her, she'll be making someone very happy again soon in my humble opinion
