What material is feasible to use for the rig with a total braid ban when using solid pva bags? Something ideally very soft I'm guessing. Thinking it'll have to be a light mono hook link unless anyone has any better ideas?

Could you get away with using a leadless leader as a hooklink? Strictly speaking still a braided material I guess.

A 3-4" section of 20lb clear amnesia and a small Ronnie on the end for some flexibility.

Could you not use a soft coated braid, poke it through the bottom of the bag and hook it back on the bag outside? If it's not a big cast I'm sure it would be ok

But that's still a braided hooklength

Ronnie I guess at a push

I think i would just use a boilie crumb stick and thread it onto the hooklength Fluoro, amnesia nylon etc at least the hook is covered so might help with presentation.

Obviously the desire is to have a little pop up sitting front and centre above a pile of crumb and pellet. Braid being the obvious choice to achieve this due its flexibility. Logically the only thing that's going to achieve this is a really short Ronnie, maybe foam it up first to make sure it pulls through the pellet and then comes to rest on top.

Bottom is blanket weedy in places which is why I like the idea of bagging.

Surely coated braid doesn't count as braid? As there's no braid exposed, I would ask the question

There's a blast from the past, does it even exist anymore?

In the same vein how about multiple lengths of a light BS mono. Bit fiddly but used to do the trick. I suppose dental floss is an option, although I never personally trusted it as a hooklink.

I believe it's the hooklink material in a solid bag that is in question

And you would be happy with a bent up mono hooklink in a pva bag? I'm not saying that would be a problem, just a question. I don't think I would.

Yes that wouldn't bother me, I'd use a mega short hooklink that woud fit the long bags that I use.

I can't see an alternative, may try soft ghost and just be careful when I'm building the bag

I would move over to fishing sticks on fluorocarbon or mono hooklinks. Dont think youll find a suitable alternative for braid with solid bags
