Does anyone buy PVA bags in bulk from somewhere similar to the Fox Rapide bags? I don't want the perforated bags as i prefer the smooth, supple unperforated bags without seams. Thanks.

Thanks. I thought the Advanta ones were the rougher type material? As you suggest i use different sizes dependant on circumstances. I was just seeing if anyone has found a supplier that does the smooth unseamed bags without the carp tax

I used the fox rapide for a while but now use the cygnet ones as they are the perfect size for what I wanted, had to trim the fox ones down a bit.

have a look at bank tackle

I'm lazy, I get my PVA mesh and bags from a chap on my syndicate. Quick handover of cash for whatever I need.
He just happens to have his own website Terminal tackle and PVA link.
I've used and tested his PVA for a few years, and with the bags I lick and stick.
Taste wise there is a tang, but it is not particularly strong, bit like an onion ring dipped in vinegar. Compared to the Kodex, that is nice. Kodex are foul!
I've tested the bags and mesh in around 1metre of lake water, just off the margins, in winter, around 5⁰C, and the mesh melted in around 2 1/2 minutes.
Both were filled with a mix of chopped boilies and boilie crumb, dry ground Vitalin and dried ground breadcrumbs.

I stopped buying the popular branded PVA bags years ago.
I get mine from China like the rest of the major brands, but I use ebay. I have just picked up 600 for this season, and I think I paid about £38 delivered.

I just use the NGT pva tape about 3 20m rolls cost a fiver and last me ages and I probably make up a 100 bags for a 4/5 day session.

I found his PVA bags tasted foul compared to ESP and other bags I've tried, probably does not make any difference to the fish, but I certainly would not lick and stick them

Thanks RigDemon, that does make sense. Have you seen any with the smooth PVA as they all seem to have the patterned material which i've found just slightly stiffer. The Fox bags don't have the extended seams either. Are there any cheaper replicas of these that you've seen or am i being unrealistic?

I've licked and stuck hundreds of them and they have caught me more fish than I could ever remember. In terms of taste, it suddenly becomes sweeter for me knowing that I'm not lining the pockets of an existing tackle brand that's probably not short of a few bob.

I have used these bags for years. Don't get hung up on the seams just stick them down or reverse the bag inside out if they bother you. The value and performance of these bags is spot on.
Post edit: I use their 7x14 bags. I like these bad boys that much I've just bought another 400.

They look like Liquidus bags, they are the best bags I have ever used.I like how they feel sort of rubbery and you can get them tighter than a gnats chuff

I always thought that putting a PVA nugget in a bag was a daft idea, but have to admit watching the video of you chucking one in a bucket a while back got me thinking.
How many did you test and did they all drop back down so perfectly with the nugget coming loose?

I tried about 2 dozen different ways of attaching the hook to the nugget to try and perfect how the nugget detached from the hook, and then once I found what I thought worked, I trialled that another half a dozen times and it worked perfectly on each test. I have used that method now for a few years and over 99% of the time, the nugget surfaces after about 45-50 seconds and you know that the presentation is spot on.
Personally I wouldn't fish any other way.

The bag material feels dry initially then after adding a bit of pellet or crumb it does go rubbery so I leave them standing for a good 30 minutes before tying them up that way they don't slacken up afterward and they stay tight. I have used loads of bags over the years and these cheap ones from China are really good.

Found it
Was the water at normal summer temperature.
I ordered 200 of the 7 x 10 bags, but then changed to the 7 x 14 to give me a bit extra when tying up. I like to knot with pva rather than lick and twist.

The bucket tests I did used tap water which was probably colder than summer lake water but notwithstanding, I dont think it makes much difference to the dissolve rate of the PVA. I always use a piece of PVA tape to tie my bags off, you can buy 3 x 20m NGT rolls of it for about a fiver that will last ages.
Those 7x14 bags are brilliant, I'm embarrassed at how many I've bought of these this year but you never know if the supply will run out do you.

I bought a load of these in the 7 x 14 size.
I used them over the last couple of days.
I found them a little narrow to fill easily. The 70mm is the external measurement and doesn't take into account the 5mm+ edges, so maybe only 60mm wide!
they seem OK out of the bag but once filled and you try to fold the corners in and add a dab of saliva they go very soft and I had a couple start to melt.
Its not a problem I have had previously so not user error.

I ordered some of these after seeing your post and they cancelled the order saying that the delivery company had damaged them and were unable to deliver them.

I guess it depends on what you are used to using. I must have used 300 plus in that size last year and they were superb for me. I lick the seams and stick those down plus the corners and tie them off with pva tape. I find if you put any kind of boilie mix in them they go quite rubbery so I leave them 30 minutes before tieing those off.
As for the post I cant really comment. I must have bought 1,500 of these from that same supplier and they haven't missed a beat.
If he shows more stock then I'd have another go.
