i know pva bags are normally a lead and a simple short rig but is it possible to use something like a spinner rig on a supple braid hooklength to present a pop up in a pva bag?
if not does anybody have any suggestions on a rig i can use to present a pop up effectively.
thanks

I use a Ronnie rig on a short supple braid in a bag and had a few like fish on them so I'm sure a spinner rig on a short hook length could work

Just a split shot of on the braided hooklink with a simple knotless knot works for me in pva bags. That said, I prefer a wafter or bottom bait really.

A shot on the supple braid works well and reduces the amount of stuff inside the PVA bag that could cause an issue.

The only real way to find out if it works is to try it.
I would recommend the hook being nicked through the centre bottom of the bag and filled on top of it. Tie the bag off to your quicklink or hooklink swivel, or even include everything, lead as well, and lick and stick or tie to Mainline or tubing.
Now of course the real answer is it does not work, will never work, and you should not do it...

No idea what you're on about.

Not sure a spinner / ronnie on a braided link is necessary and arguably counterproductive given the movement that braid provides naturally . . .just use a kicker on the hook and either split shot directly below or putty / tungsten bead etc
I think lead location in the bag is the most important aspect to ensure the bag lands lead down and hookbait up (not underneath / on the side / masked etc.) That and ensuring a decent airhole on the hookbait side to ensure the bag doesn't twist / move erratically when it explodes on the deck

I do something similar in a 70 x 140 pva bag with a wafter. Treble A coloured green dinsmore shot on the hair above the hook nicked into a PVA nugget. Drop the wafter into bottom corner of the bag and fill it with small pellets to about halfway, drop the inline lead inside (includes 4" supple hooklink) and fill the rest of the bag with pellet and tie it off with pva tape.
The bag hits the deck, implodes, the nugget lifts the wafter up out of the way then detaches and drops perfectly on top of the pellet, happy days.
No reason that wouldn't work with a pop up. Its caught me hundreds of fish. Infact I'm out now using it and doing rather well

Love this!
What pellets do you use?

You can use whatever pellets you like, smaller ones are better to get the bag as compact as possible. I've got krill and shrimp and atlantic heat in that bag.
That bag also just put a 26lb common on the bank 30 mins ago so it must be doing something right 👍

What I'm on about:
Don't think that you have to follow 'rules' in carp fishing, experiment and try things to see if it produces fish. Don't follow the crowd, be different, adapt to suit yourself.
Does a Ronnie or Spinner rig work in a PVA bag?
Yes it can, yes it has for me, I even said how I have used it, with the loading of the bag as well.
Then I carefully became sarcastic and said Don't ever try it because its not done...
The rules in carp fishing:
Ask questions, but also think and learn for yourself.
It's like the big rule with Chod rigs, 'only works with single baits around it'.
Er No!
The number of times I have loaded a PVA bag with pellets around the lead and caught fish, even hooked the rig through the end of the bag, and had takes within minutes of the bag dissolving.
Try it, experiment, see what works for you.

Lol - it never does (apols Nick)
PS Also think anyone fishing a ronnie with a short braided hooklink is creating an unecessary rig that other than perhaps acting like a slightly longer shanked hook achives very little real benefit apart from more metalwork and expense
