Shopping trolley used to be prestige core business many years ago . I worked for Alan for a few months when I left school but the carp porters took over from that unless they have another warehouse Dealing with them as I've visited their only unit in Basildon I know of many times and it's just full of boxes of carp porters and other fishing luggage they sell never saw old lady's shopping trolley

Korda have been distributing for Prestige for a while. Could well be true. But wasnt that also the case for Mainline who they also distribute for.

Core business is importing now. Nothing made in the U.K. anymore it seems atleast not there most popular mk2. And the drop in quality shows. Mine is extremely rusty, handles wobble like a one legged mr blobby despite the stabilising bar and overall it just seems far less well built than the mk2 I have from years ago, which if not for age and misuse would still be going today.

My mate who works in a tackle shop has said for years that prestige are a complete nightmare to deal with. He said they regularly order two barrows, then when they turn up they will make one decent one to sell from the parts of the two, then eventually when prestige bother to respond they get them to send them out the missing bits for the other one. In fact until covid I think they were selling more Nash barrows in the end.
I reckon Korda will have their work cut out sorting that out. There was a video that Ali Hamidi posted a few years ago. I think he might have been collecting a new barrow? Anyway the place looked like a burgled bring and buy sale.

Prestige's customer service was always awful imo.
What i will say though is once i got my barrow sorted it has been really great and is still going strong about 12 years on

The missus bought me a big boy triporter, and the square metal frame thing to support the under barrow bag had a small crack in it...hardly noticeable and did not affect its use in any way, but as she had paid a few quid for the barrow I emailed carp porter with a photo of the part and two days later a replacement was delivered.
I thought this was pretty good customer service, To be fair though they never replied or even acknowledged my emai, but it was sorted quickly, so no complaints from me

Just been told Korda won't be doing power porters,they may do them direct to the public in the future but as for now it's a no go.This seems very odd and will cost them customers surely

I reckon the arse Is is falling out of factory power porters, prestige or Nash. Who in their right mind would pay £1000 for a power barrow when they can convert their perfectly good barrow for £400.

Due to back and breathing problems I recently bit the bullet and bought a secondhand Power Porter. As far as I can tell the tube thickness Of my old MK1 (the one with the grey Hammerite style finish) is 50% greater than the Power Porter, 1.5mm wall compared to 1mm wall. Consequently, due to this, and cackhandednes of the previous owner(s), pretty much all the clamping points were stuffed. I've had to spend a fair bit of time fitting 2mm wall box section inserts to give a fim base to clamp to.
Due to back and breathing problems I recently bit the bullet and bought a secondhand Power Porter. I must admit it's a lot of dough a grand for a barrow, but look at anything else that's half decent these days, bivvys take the biscuit. I paid £750 for my mk6. Added a bit to it, but nearly 6 years later its saved my back more than a few times and as some of you know, because of it, I take the kitchen sink for a three night session.
First bit of kit I'd buy again to be honest if I woke up one morning and it had dissapeared.

Apparently Korda are doing the power porters,I have emailed them directly.Im just not sure if you have to order direct from them,im awaiting a reply to this.

Converted my mk2 fat boy for £200 all in , took me best part of 2 hours too , not a cat in hells chance am I paying best part of a grand for a barrow 👍

I mailed someone at Korda about a mk8 pp from what I gather there setting up an assembly side for the motor side of it,frames made in the east as they previously were but he couldn't tell me when they ll be available again.I've looked for the e mail just to make sure my facts are correct but I must of deleted it.
I've gone with bcuk I can't comment on the product as I only ordered it tonight but the customer service is excellent. I'm having a frame Brace powder coating and a power kit on a mk2 so if I can add anything constructive when it's done I'll post something.

there are lots of ways Ali express do motorised wheels and all the bits needed if you handy with your hands and have electrical knowledge for under £200

I know that Gladwells were looking to distribute and buy Carp Porter around 5 years ago, same as they own Crafty Catcher.
Not sure why it fell through then.
I must admit my Porterlite has never been any problem nor my mates original Porter other than his lack of care, left in a damp leaking shed, but lasted around 10years I guess, maybe more.
Thing with Korda buying them, you do get good advertising and market saturation.
I know that Gladwells were looking to distribute and buy Carp Porter around 5 years ago, same as they own Crafty Catcher.
Not sure why it fell through then.
