OWN A TRAKKER - RLX FLAT 6 LEG BEDCHAIR ???
a mate that does not go on the internet has asked me for a recommendation for a firm flat lightweight bedchair I now use a Wychwood compact bedchair I love it but he says the legs are too short and of course all compact bedchairs suffer with this problem
so looking around I see this Trakker RLX flat is only 7.5kg but what he needs to know whats it like and in particular
how long the legs are ?
as no where does it mention the height ??

Last 2 months i was looking for a firm light bedchair, in the end even if it's heavy i keep my Oval levelite tall, there is just no decent light (below 8kg) bedchair
Fox duralite is acceptable in terms of weight but let your friend have a look at the solar CH08 not light but not the heaviest and firm, Ch08 is also better quality than the Duralite
Rlx Flat is low, couldn't even get my Sonik backpack under it.

It's very low, which is why I bought it originally.

I use one and the height doesn't cause me any issues. The weight is why I bought it (had it for a few years now). Beds are pretty personal, but I find it comfy (I'd choose something softer vs. firm).
More than happy to measure the height for you if you like (with the legs retracted and extended). I'll set it up tomorrow and drop you a PM if that helps

Been looking at these myself, I sleep on my side so I'm after a bed that's not too hard, I tried a couple in a shop and they are like sleeping on a sheet of plywood, would these be suitable for sleeping on your side ? Cheers 🙂

I've tried this in the shop and I think it would be a good option for side sleeping, your best bet would be to try and find a shop with one on display and give it a try. I know some Go Outdoors has them on display if thats of any help.

I have the Trakker RLX (have had for about 2yrs) and it is so light it surprises you when you first lift it 😄 I sleep on my side mostly and it is fine for me @15 1/2 stone and 6' tall. Big enough in general, the legs only extend about 5” I reckon and isn't overly low imo - no lower than my Nash SS3 (which weighs a ton in comparison)
If it needs to be light to carry, and compact when folded I haven't found a better one than the RLX yet personally.

I get confused by all the different models, but may be able to help
I use the rlx super light with a sim and it's very good
I also have a compact flat six but I'm too tall for it
The compact is very low , and the rlx is average I guess

sorry m8 I cant get to it as its at the back of my fishing container and due to my spinal injury's I cant lift anything at the moment

I'm also s side sleeper I found it fine.
I also found the fox extremely comfy as a side sleeper. It's not too furm but firm enough but ultimately its really padded but as said, it's heavy but I would say more compact width and height but a lot deeper bc of padding

38cm leg height is not 38 Cm height under the bedchair more like 32/33 cm

I am not interested in the under bed height but the height of the bed as he is like me elderly lol and finds it difficult to get on and off a low bed

Currently on my rlx at the lake.. I don't have a tape measure but the legs on the lowest setting Is the same height as my size 10 trainer if that helps. Great bed chair love it.. just don't ask the extended height till morning it cold out

and in both our opinions it is no where near as good the Wychwood
the Wychwood is far firmer so the RLX is going back for a refund as it will be no good for his ancient back
and the search continues the perfect bed for both him and me would be a firm Wychwood tactical type bed that was around 8kg with a long leg adjustment so the bed height could be around 50cm high
there has to be a big market for people with dodgy backs or older carpers that struggle to get up out of these silly low down hobbits beds that dont weigh a ton

I have both Wychwood Tactical Compact Bedchair and The Trakker RLX Flat (superlight?) and i find the Trakker more comfortable and pretty sure it is better build quality and bigger .... I cant get to them at the moment to be sure

Check out the Prologic Inspire range, strong, light, comfortable, the mattress is attached to the frame like the top of the range Solar beds, no sagging and some of the range the legs extend to 50cm, I'm 6'3” and at full height my legs are a couple of inch off the ground. Well worth a look for the money.

Flatliner looks good and high at maximum leg extension, but over twice the weight of the RLX6. Agreed their must be a middle ground between bed height, comfort and weight to carry.

Yeah that caught my eye too Gerry, weight sounds like good middle ground and only seen good reviews for it. Makes me think how low the RLX6 is, albeit the weight was my main concern when buying it.

Within a few days I will receive the Solar CH08 and Prologic Inspire 6 Legs for my nephew, I will measure both again, I thought the CH08 was only 40/42 cm max, the Sp-ctec is 100% 50 cm

the solar one if its 50cm my mate will definitely buy one and I will probably sell my bed`s and buy one myself too
to me I love the versatility of a separate bag and cover initially I thought asleep system was the way to go and spent a shed load of money on one NEVER EVER again
my Snugpak Techlite and Gardner cover is perfect for any conditions I will ever encounter and on any bedchair I choose to use it on so much more versatile

Maby 50 cm measure from ground to top of mattress but certainly not 50 cm from ground to bottom of mattress
Thought if you measure from the floor to bottom of the matrass you have 40 cm , I will take pictures of both bedchairs with the measurements, delivery is expected around 31/01-01/02

no I lay on top of the bed or sit on it so thats the height measurement I need from ground to the top of the bed if its 50cm max then that will mean its the best buy IMO

I would never have anything memory foam ever again it does not breath so you sweat like a rapist in the summer and in the winter it gets cols and shrinks and goes hard

Already did a few nights on another CH08 found the matress better then the one off the Sp-c-tech (sp felt harder) but i preff a high density foam matrass

Well I know its not Johnson Ross fault at all
they use Fedex for the delivery they are the monkeys !
and the tracking on Fedex site said said delivery Tuesday 1.2.22 before 6.00pm but it never arrived ??
so checked it simply said delayed
weds still no update on Fedex tracking site simply delayed so after poncing around for 30 mins online finally found a phone number for Fedex and said when can I expect delivery please as there is no update on your tracking info ? she said we have got it at the hub just dont know why it hasn't moved
probably it will arrive tomorrow Thursday !
NO NO I said I am in hospital all day Thursday for my Chemo and transfusions but any other day I will be in as I am housebound !
oh not sure if I can stop it !!! I now explode are you for real ???
finally she said I will request its delivered Friday then ......................... well on the tracking site its still saying DELAYED ? so lets see if it comes

is just to point out its really not the dealers fault at all they use these delivery company's in good faith and are let down by them occasionally no matter how big or small the company is they can still get problems
I am in no hurry at all its for my pal and he wont be going night fishing until the end of the month anyway
they use Fedex for the delivery they are the monkeys !
and the tracking on Fedex site said said delivery Tuesday 1.2.22 before 6.00pm but it never arrived ??
so checked it simply said delayed
weds still no update on Fedex tracking site simply delayed so after poncing around for 30 mins online finally found a phone number for Fedex and said when can I expect delivery please as there is no update on your tracking info ? she said we have got it at the hub just dont know why it hasn't moved
probably it will arrive tomorrow Thursday !
NO NO I said I am in hospital all day Thursday for my Chemo and transfusions but any other day I will be in as I am housebound !
oh not sure if I can stop it !!! I now explode are you for real ???
finally she said I will request its delivered Friday then ......................... well on the tracking site its still saying DELAYED ? so lets see if it comes

ITS ARRIVED
first impressions wow is this the best bed chair I have ever bought ? and trust me I have owned bed chairs since the mid 60s starting with argos and every make and most models since then
Fedex delivered it at 07.25 this morning first thing I loved was the Spring-Loc, one-touch leg adjustment it made me jump lol pressed the catch and the leg springs out at a rate of knots very handy
next the legs swing and snap into place in a plastic holder so they are not going to accidently fold up on you very easily
its wider than I imagined (205 × 80 × 36cm) or 31"
but the greatest thing that my pal is going to be delighted with is the max height as stated 50cm or 19 1/2inches
I weighed it on a very accurate set of scales and its 10.1kg so thats about right too
now let me tell you what a test !!!
good to sit on on not any bad sagging at all ........but I 100% always use a bedchair buddy and loved the height so easy to get on and off thought I would lay down on it lovely and firm it was now 08.15 and I woke up at 09.40 with the chemist delivering some pill or maybe I would still be asleep now
being nice and firm it was and high it was easy to get up from
I am now placing and order for one for myself as I am over the moon with this
and be selling my mint ELS original and my Wychwood compact as I cant see me ever using them again

Great that you like the CH08, it is an outsider in the price range under 250, with build quality even better than much more expensive beds.
The CH08 is somewhat forgotten because of the Sp-C-tech range which is also Top but a lot more expensive and heavier
Hopefully the new undercover pro (sleep system) is also as good.

still got the ELS but its a bit too big and not high enough
this is the same lovely firm bed that I need for my bad back feels just like the ELS
and of course my Mountain Equipment Helium 3.8 SIM fits perfect just the same so got the extra insulation and comfort

Firstly and most importantly Gerry, great news about your remission. Having lost my dad last November to an offshoot of cancer/Leukaemia, it puts EVERYTHING into perspective - so I hope you enjoy every day of your next life 👏

I seem to be losing so many mates and relations to Cancer terrible disease back to the bedchair I am so impressed with the quality Solar really do make quality products not that I have one but everyone raves about their chairs too and I recently bought the Solar undercover Brolly system too
not used it yet but put it up in the garden and its terrific its an unusual size but to me the perfect footprint when swims are a bit tight I used to like big shelters but now prefer the more compact ones with a good height thats more important to me
I hope by June 16 I will be fit enough to be back on the bank with my new bedchair and shelter and it wont matter at all if I catch or not ( but I never ever blank I just run out of time )

but Im ok to drive no problem I drive to the hospital every Thursday and I will be fishing the Tidal Trent its 147 miles from my house lol and will be meeting a pal who will carry my gear and help me set up if I need help if I cant get a disable swim
the only thing I wont ever be able to do is lift anything really heavy as I have 2 vertebrae that the tumour in my spine pushed out and fractured that they cant do anything about I am buying a kit for my barrow to motorise it as it wheels straight in the back of my car but I now need a motor on it my strength is coming back now I have put the weight back on I lost

How does the Solar bed chair CH08 compare to the more expensive sp c tech? I was also recommended the avid benchmark level tech which is around same price as the sp around the £350. I'm proper tight and breaks my heart to think of that and a bag (thinking of the fox ven tech rip stop around £180) is going to cost around £520!! I don't want it to weigh a ton as pushing my barrow is a mission without any extra weight Of these sleep systems. There's just so bloody many to choose from!!!

For me the mattress on the CH08 felt better then the 3D one from the Sp-c tech (Sp is harder)
Build quality from the sp range and CH08 are both top
Imo grap the CH08 with a Fortis Snugpack bag, then you have a nice set that dont weight alot or the new Solar Undercover Pro Sleeping Bag (2.55kg) + cover

And you reckon that's better then the fox ventec? Reason I like look of the fortis more is you can unzip it to make it from 5-3 season. Don't want to be super warm in the winter but sweating my tits off in summer in the ventec which you can't remove layers from

The older ventec I had was ridiculously warm and you could remove layers.I woke up to a lake frozen once whilst I was proper toasty

Fox Ventec VRS2 would be the only Fox bag I would buy (layers) but not in stock anymore
I preff a 3/5 Sleeping bag that you can use all seasons if it is still too cold you can at an extra cover, a big plus of the Fortis is the weight 3kg 5season and only 2kg for 3 season
