as above I'm looking at a material that can be used for stiff rigs straight thru , preferably not fluorocarbon. Can anyone recommend a material which can be pulled straight and will like knotless knots and figure of 8 loops..thanks

Any reason why you're not wanting fluoro?

The obvious choice would be amnesia.

Amnesia all the way. 20 has a bit of give, 25 for a bit stiffer.

ESP Bristle Filament is good if you want a really stiff rig.

Really like the thinking anglers think link... not as stiff as amnesia but very user friendly

I've always used amnesia in various b.s. depending on substrate. However have now used Gardner tricklink and it is as good.

Clear Amnesia in 20lb has been my D rig favourite for as long as I can remember

Some of the others may be stiffer and claim to possibly knot better, but with a bit of practice Amnesia is fine
I havent ever felt the need to change tbh

I found the 25lb too thick for D rigs as it doesnt go through most hook eyes the required 3 times, even in a size 4

Kryston Synx 30lb. Incredible stuff that is new to me. Only just started messing about with it. It's got a bit of a memory, but you can use the curve to your advantage if you wish (Chod, Withy etc). Otherwise, it can be pulled or steamed straight. Sinks well, nice choice of colour and tough as old boots.

I never got on with Amnesia as I found it a bit too wirey.

I was using Thinking Anglers Think Link for my D rigs and booms for hinges since it came out. Just the right amount of flexibility.

Recently I have been using Korda XT Snag leader. It's much cheaper as it comes on a 100m spool. I feel the colour is better that the think link.
