Hi guys, going to start fishing a water were no leaders are aloud and tubing must be used. I got some tungsten tubing and lead clip set ups from bank tackle but when I put the tubing into the tail rubber it's very loose and I'm worried it will slide up the line. Any tricks or method to make this a better fit, thanks in advance.

I found the bank tackle tungsten tubing crap , goes brittle very quickly. It's expensive but the rigmarole stuff is head and shoulders above anything else imo

No problems with the mosquito angling tungsten tubing and probably cheaper than bank tackle too.

The Bank Tackle rubber stuff is shocking mate. I bought a bunch of their zig aligners and once I got past 120ish they wouldn't hold the foam, it was coming straight out on the cast. Of course it took me a biteless day of sitting watching old originals rolling all over my zigs at 140 to realize this had happened. I was raging at the time, I'll not touch anything from those guys again.

Thanks for the reply guys. Oh well you live and learn as they say. I've found some fox lead clips that I had and the tail rubbers on them have a smaller hole so it fits great with them. I've just ordered some of the rig marole braided tubing, that seems to get good reviews

As said the bank tackle stuff goes brittle after only couple trips. People struggle to thread the Korda tungsten tubing but I've never had any problems and last a good while before it needs to be binned

Haven't come across Mosquito Angling before, what is their other stuff like? The hooks look cheap @ £2 a packet, are they sharp?

Re tubing, I use hls-products off ebay. And tail rubbers/clips, ESKA also off ebay. The fit is OK. The tubing works out at under £3 for 2m. Only issue with the tubing is all 3 colours are a bit dark.
Not sure what you can do with your tail rubbers that don't fit your tubing other than glue them. Or maybe try melting them to fuse them together?

There seems to be a bit of a buzz around Mosquito Angling.

Mozzie hooks are the only hooks I use these days. Not paying a fortune for hooks that then need sharpening, mozzie hooks don't. Had fish into the 50s on them and not had one straighten on me yet. High prices is not a sign of superior quality. I used to used korda hooks exclusively but after too many straightening, snapping etc I binned them all and have never looked back. I have full confidence in anything I've bought from mosquito angling.

Best i have found is the Korda dark matter tungsten tubing very easy to thread and is really good quality

I'd agree. I'm not a massive Korda fan but their dark matter tungsten tubing is second to none in my opinion. Enough to do 3 rods from one packet.

Korda stuff does the job. I find it easiest to thread of those I've tried.

All I use now too.. korda dark matter 10/10 from me.
But that rig morale stuff is top end too!

I got myself a couple of the Gardner tube threaders, even if the tubing isn't playing ball it makes it a doddle to thread.

Mcf hugger is imho better than the Korda stuff
Softer and tougher

If you haven't seen this and have had trouble threading tubing have a look at this, its helped me out a ton when threading tubing of any length.

The only tubing I've used is the korda dark matter stuff, which is brilliant, but expensive. I've used the threading technique in the video on this and had a problem with it breaking after I have used the method quite a few times but maybe due to me squeezing too hard. But very heavy and sinks like a brick, and lies over the lake contours beautifully.
Plus went onto bank tackle stuff does not look good, cheap looking stuff

I use korda stuff and ive tried a lot of different tubing, I dont understand the guys still saying the rig marole stuff is mega supple the last 3 packets ive bought are extremely stiff compared to previous of the same product. I have had to move away from it now that i cant source any of the supple stuff, I have still caught using it but its not the same as the stuff ive used before.

Cut line at 45 degrees before threading no problems, straight through korda dark matter

Bin the bank tackle stuff and get rig morale braided tubing

Well I got my rig marole braided tubing delivered recently and I'm not sure I like it. It seems very stiff and doesn't look like it will take up the contours of the lake bed up very well. Anyone else use this tubing, what are your thoughts guys?

I use it and don't get the stiff comments? Sinks very well and follows the contours well

This stuff I got says it's got a stainless steel inner so I can't see how it can be supple. Can imagine yes it will sink very well with steel inside it. Does this sound like the same stuff your using?

By the way, when did you purchase yours as it seems like they've changed it along the way for some reason.

I thought the same, bought some a few years ago and put it straight into the bin. It was stiff/springy stuff that was impossible to thread.
Baffled me though as everyone raves about it.

When Rig Marole first released the tubing it was thin with a kind of spring inner that was extremely flexible. Absolutely brilliant. Then classically along came version 2 which was double the thickness but still quite flexible. Bloody awful. Thankfully I'm still going through all the Mk 1 version I bought when it came out. Can't comment on what's being currently sold.

HI Daz
Based on your comment regarding Mozzy rig tube, I placed a small order on Friday and received it today. Not had a chance to thread line yet but have to say its very supple.
Thanks for the prompt.

I've only started using it since the new version came out. Yeah it's thicker than others but as you say it sinks like a brick and is supple enough to follow contours . I really like it and if the original stuff was better then that's a bonus for anyone who has some

I was in 2 minds whether to send it back to be honest but I think I'll give it a go alongside my normal tubing I've got and see how it goes. All part of the fun as they say

Very happy with the Rigmarole freefall micro tubing, plenty supple enough for me, the other tubing I liked was the MCF stuff.

The freefall micro braided is a thin as leadcore . . .the wide bore is twice the thickness but heavier . . both are supple enough IMO and a piece of p*ss to thread compared to any other tubing I've ever had the misfortune of using to date . .

I must have some of the same batch , as i said i used it a long time ago and it was the good stuff , and if i held it between two fingers it would drape over each side of my finger , this newer stuff held its own weight for a distance and stayed straight it was rubbish. Ive seen both types and would only ever buy it after testing it as it aint cheap but the right stuff is awesome.
