Anyone using these at all?
I've tied up a few rigs with them - not used them in anger yet - I quite like the idea of them as they could help a fish shed a rig if you lose one in weed that say, is festooned in zebra mussels for instance and that the sleeve could slide back and the fish swim away with just a hook lodged in its mouth.

I've used them but would take a miracle for the sleeve to go back enough for the rig to become free. Likely hood is the fish would be pulling against it.
Yeah, that's a good point. Shaking it's head if it the sleeve went back far enough?

I like the idea of being able to tie a few boom sections up and then clipping on either a hinge or Ronnie depending on the situation.

Are you using the small or large weight? What popups are they holding down?

Was going to start a new thread but now this has popped up I won't.
People using these. Are they better than the standard way of setting up a Ronnie rig? Are you preferring being able to remove the whole hook, swivel component system, rather than just the hook itself. I've ordered some in each size to play around with, just after thoughts of those currently using them. I really like the quick change element or ronnies so asking in relation to that

I recently did what you're now thinking of doing. I saw them and they peeked my interest. I predominantly use the 360 rig - not too keen on the Ronnie.
One of the reasons I bought them and as I alluded to in my O.P, i liked the idea that the clip might come undone if a fish gets snagged, and also, the quick change aspect of these clips. I like them.

I never set them up standard anyway mate. I always weighted the boom with a tungsten bead. So basically all these do is make the set-up quick-change which for me is so much easier.

Tunsten bead, or putty, assuming you still use a boom, quick change swivel and hook the hook eye onto the quick change swivel then cover it some how. Thats what i see as a standard way of setting it up, the hook to quick change swivel being the quick change element, assuming you arent using shrink tube to cover the swivel and hook connection

Right. Cause thats how im looking to start usi g the ronnie clips. Other than them looking tidier, and the shrick tube being cleaner, imagine its a lot easier to change the hook over in cold weather. I ise fox size 2s and the eyes are massive which can make sliding kickers up and down a right pain with cold fingers

For sure. I just tie up the ronnie bits at home and swap them over on the boom for each fish. Dead easy mate.

Dont use Ronnie Rigs for carp but do use this kit for Barbel combi rigs! Braided loop on the hook section - fluro boom tied to clip - tungsten sleeve protects hooklink and acts as pivot point. . . . .perfect quick change rig
