After fishing this weekend I found I had lots of tangles (way more than normal) even on my normal leadclip set up... It's got me paranoid.
I was using an inline set up on one rod and this one tangled a lot too.
What in your opinion is the best set up for anti tangle.... I've not used the helicopter for years

Just use a anti tangle sleeve and make sure you hit your line clip on your cast. If you hit your clip on cast your rig really shouldn't be tangling.
I fish spinners or if bottom bait in solid bags. Nice short 5" rig with inline drop off lead system in solid pva bag. Impossible to get tangles.

I always use an anti angler sleeve and always feather down the cast and feel for the drop but still had tangles this weekend

Tangled when you reeled or you saw they were tangling on the cast?
If tangled when you reeled in you sure you went just getting done?

I use a large anti-tangle sleeve and recently started to use Ridgemonkey Rock Bottom for my hooklengths. I use multi-rigs and KD rigs only and never suffer from tangles.

It was actually some old Kryston Snakeskin

For many years we used supple braid hooklinks and didn't get tangles. I use them now with inlines and don't get tangles.
I do however always cast to the clip and if casting less than 100yards I add a small mesh bag to the hook

Agreed, I used Silkworm for years with not many tangles without bags or casting to clips though I always feathered the cast, trapped it before contact with the water and held on a tight line to feel the lead down.
Very frustrating to reel in and find tangles.
Swap out the hook link Baptist and see if this makes a difference?

While not Silkworm, I prefer Merlin as it is a sinking braid. Even so a quick rub with Heavy Metal made sure it sank rather than loop up.
Very rare for me to get tangles, although I didn't clip up, preferring to feather it on the cast, like Markerz.
I still use Merlin from pre Kryston and Dave Chilton sell off, either on its own, or as part of a combi-link.

A rig I have the upmost confidence in is an amnesia d rig on a Heli. I haven't suffered a tangle ever using this setup it's simple to tie and can be adjusted to fish over anything on a Heli 👍🏼

For wafters/bottom baits. . .IQ (using 15/20lb CamH20) D rig with anti tangle sleeve at loop/swivel end and sinker about 2inches from this (not the hook end) . . .use with either lead clip / helicopter arrangement. Always put a large piece or preferably nick a small mesh bag of foam nuggets on for extra piece of mind . . .this is a stiff rig with no additional movement at either end so in my mind less to 'land' in the wrong direction etc . . .

Same here for wafters/bottom baits but recently started using 25lb clear Amnesia and love it, kind of soft but stiff

I like the 20lb clear amnesia, i have tried a lot of the newer lines from various companies but keep going back to the amnesia
