Always use Korda heli safes on my syndicate due to the heavy silt . However leaders have just been banned and tubing has to be used. Anyone any ideas of any manufacturers that do a version of the helisafe that can be used with tubing?

fox do the ones with the PVA nugget to drop the lead on the take.

personally id use a 2oz and not drop it on the take, id use nash/TA heli sleeves on the tubing.

Only prob with 2oz is you need to be fishing 100 yards plus in some swims, I can't get a 2oz lead that far

there is that.

even with a heavy lead do you need to drop it on the take?
I don't know of any other heli drop off system apart from korda and fox. and the fox one if the lead gets plugged into the silt you mate lose it when reeling in without a fish as its PVA based.

what's your reason for dropping the lead? Shouldn't really need to unless there's weed

You don't "need" to even in weed. Dropping the lead is a silly modern way of the tackle companies making more money, and all the little sheep go along with it.

You don't need to drop the lead and if you need distance use a heavier lead. If the weed is so bad you can't retrieve a lead, you shouldn't be fishing there. Imho

Korda have their tubing/helisafe coming for re-release very soon. The tubing has a safe zone bead on the tubing, works very well Im told

I used there earlier version the released and loved it. It was withdrawn from market. Ive run out so am eagerly waiting for the re-release to hit the shops.

I superglue a short fat tail rubber to the back of the Heli safe clips when using tubing. Surprised Korda haven't released a helisafe with a tail rubber incorporated

They did but then recalled it. If you go on their website it's still there under Lead Systems to see what it looked like.

Buy a pack of helisafe and some tubing. Thread tubing on mainline and a soft rubbe bead on tubing, followed by large ring swivel, another rubber bead. Open the helisafe, thread it all on line and tie on the half swivel.

Been using this for a long time, never had a problem with beads sliding off or down to eject lead

i have been thinking about this and playing about since the korda one got re-called.

how do you get the tubing to stay in place ? it seems to just slide out the helisafe system ?

. . .Fox edges chod heli buffer sleeve (or drop off version if you have to drop the lead) works fine with Rigmarole Hydrolink braided tubing . . .both have got a long tapered section that you can cut back to create a snug fit as required . . .

I tried the Korda Heli system but found the system sticks after a short time and you have to get pliers out and take it apart to get a lead off.....
