I've been using the overhand loop for years to tie the quick change loop on my rigs and not had a single one let me down. Recently I've had my eyes opened with the number of knots available and wondered what knot you use? Do you do the same as me and use a simple overhand loop to tie of the rigs or something else?

I've always used that knot with mono or fluorocarbon lines when I want a bit of movement in the rig. I've always known it as the Perfection Loop knot. Sits the loop really flat.

The perfection loop knot is different to the one in the clip. I know the one in the clip as the rapala knot. I think it was invented by lure anglers to give the lure more movement. It's particularly useful if you're tying on a chod section for a hinge stiff rig, as you don't have to try and pass the whole chod section through a loop to tie the knot.

To to OP, for a simple loop for attaching the rig to a quick change swivel I use a figure of 8 loop knot.

The Rapala Knot is great and similar to the fox vid in post 2
but the Rapala has the end tucking !! that I think makes it superior
as in this video
LINKY POO
IF YOU tie the Rapala one end and a fig 8 the other end pull until it breaks the fig 8 will break first every time

If you tie this one wrong the loop kicks off at angle from the main section
Rather than staying straight
Pretty sure it was the one recommended in the krypton paperwork
That came with the hook link material

Like you I still use an overhand loop. Never let me down. No plans to change.

Overhand loop for coated braid rigs. Figure of 8 if I make a loop on mono or flouro.

Can I ask why not a figure of eight loop with coated braid mate? Cheers

Because I find the overhand loop strong enough when used on coated braid(never had one snap) and it's less bulky.
